Remember last week when I said I had a good reason for missing my traditional Sunday night post? Well, tonight all will be revealed….dun dun dun!
Anyways, we’ve been super busy lately. The usual work stuff of course, but this weekend we got to see a whole bunch of people that we haven’t seen in a while so that was a lot of fun. Friday night we went to see the new Die Hard movie with our friends Kayla and Justin at the movie theater up the street. Never been there before, but it was a lot of fun. Movie was so-so, but the company was good! That night we made plans to go to the Miller Brewer tour with them, since we live right up the street and have never been there. So the next afternoon we went to the brewery tour, and since our Sheboygan friends Ryan and Rachel were in town, we decided to meet them there too. Ryan’s a bartender at the moment and will not pass up the opportunity to try some free beer samples! We had a great time, and it was fun to catch up with friends that we haven’t seen since our weddings. Finally, we drove out to Mequon to visit Harry and Maura at their home. Haven’t seen them in forever either, so that was good to catch up with them as well! So many friends in one day, it was good to see everybody though!
This morning, we woke up early to get our home inspected. I guess I should back up a little bit. Last week Allyse and I put an offer on a house, and on Monday they accepted it! We’re going to be homeowners! Last Sunday night at about this time we were sitting down with our realtor to draft the offer, and on Tuesday morning he shared the good news with us! We are both REALLY excited about it. It’s an updated Cape Cod on the Milwaukee side of the Milwaukee/Wauwatosa border. The home inspection went really well this morning and there were no real major issues, so now we’re good to go ahead with our financing and all the other behind-the-scenes stuff that goes with buying a house! If all goes as planned we will close on April 10th! Like I said, we’re both thrilled about it and can’t wait to get into our new place and officially become grown-ups with all sorts of grown-up responsibilities….I’m sure you’ll hear me complaining about it at some point, but for now it sounds fun!
This picture is from the inside of the brewhouse in the Miller plant. Those things are huuuuge. Something like 30,000 swimming pools worth of beer pass through these every year Pretty impressive, and a great tour so if you’re in the area I would recommend you check it out!
